Welcome to The TEC Centre

The objectives of the Centre are :

Create a one-stop-shop facility for industry R&D in the region
Build industry-led programmes to sustain growth in the Irish embedded systems industry
Create new start-ups with international potential

The TEC Centre is industry interface of the Nimbus Centre. The Nimbus Centre is Ireland’s only research centre devoted to the field of embedded electronic systems. Over sixty researchers are involved in NIMBUS, carrying out research, teaching and knowledge transfer to industry in the area of networked embedded systems

Programmes for Industry

The POINT Programme: Our core industry programme is entitled ‘Practical Optimisation and Innovation of Networkable Technologies’ (POINT). The Programme has three threads:

Industry Support: Short-term prototyping projects to build a communication and innovation process.
Innovation & Exploitation: Generating valuable IP and ensuring its exploitation through.
Enterprise Education & Apprenticeship: Enabling practical transfer of knowledge with second/third/fourth level students.

Services & Facilities

We have completed prototyping and innovation projects in distributed sensing, hardware systems, automated resource monitoring, indoor and outdoor real-time tracking, multimedia systems, websites and application software.
